March 2012: Former IFA president to address Holstein NI AGM

Members of Holstein Northern Ireland are reminded that its 13th Annual General Meeting takes place on Monday, April 2. Sponsored by Dairy Herd Management, the event takes place at Gilgood Lodge, Moira, commencing at 8pm.

Guest speaker for the evening is former Irish Farmers’ Association president Tom Clinton from County Meath who will address the issue of ‘How the Abolition of Quotas in Europe will affect your Farm Business’.

Mr Clinton started full-time farming at the age of 15, and over the years has increased the size of the family farm from 32 hectares to 170 hectares. He also farms an additional 130 hectares of rented land, and with the help of son, John, produces over 2.7 million litres of milk per annum.

The Clinton family have business interests in New Zealand, which includes farming 2,500 cows on 1,450 hectares of land.

The internationally acclaimed businessman has a wealth of global experience, including the US, and Europe, and has been invited to address various organisations throughout the world.
