Holstein NI website launched

Holstein Northern Ireland has launched a new website which aims to keep members up-to-date with all the latest club news and activities.

Club secretary, John Martin said:”Holstein NI is delighted to unveil its new website and we hope that it will attract a lot of interest from Holstein breeders, not only in Northern Ireland, but across the UK and further afield.

“Northern Ireland is home to some of the hottest pedigree Holstein genetics in the world, and we hope to further develop the website as an essential marketing tool for our members.”

The website contains information about Holstein NI, and features reports and photographs from shows and sales, as well news, and useful links to other associated websites. It also includes a contacts page, and all the latest information surrounding the Holstein Young Breeders’ Club.

Forthcoming events are also featured, including the Ulster Bank Herds Inspection Competition; the Dalevalley Sky High Protein Sale which takes place at Ballybay Mart, County Monaghan on Wednesday, June 9; and the Causeway Classic II Elite Heifer Calf Sale, which takes place at Balmoral on Wednesday, August 11. Sponsored by United Feeds, Holstein UK and Genus ABS, the Causeway Classic II Sale will feature a selection of high genetic Holstein calves, a trade stand exhibition, and a BBQ.

“The website will be updated on a regular basis. Log on later this month for the results of the 2010 Herds Inspection Competition. The catalogue for the forthcoming Causeway Classic Sale II will also be available for downloading in due course,” added John Martin.

The website was designed by Lyndsey of Behan of Show Business based in Portlaoise.  Show Business offers a specialist website design and promotion service aimed at pedigree cattle enthusiasts and breed organisations.  “In establishing Show Business I have been able to combine my two passions – website design and pedigree cattle.”

Membership of Holstein NI costs 20 per annum, and membership application forms can be downloaded directly from the website. Members can also avail of a discounted offer on Dalton Tags.
